Sustainability

Join us on our path to Sustainability

We are committed to reducing our impact and making more responsible choices. At Sock Affairs, our journey to a better future has already begun, one thoughtfully made pair of socks at a time. We believe in a brighter, greener future and we are actively working toward it. At Sock Affairs, that means making responsible choices in how we design, produce, and deliver every pair of socks.

Commitment To Climate Goals

We are committed to supporting the global ambition to limit global warming to 1.5°C, in alignment with the Paris Agreement. Our sustainability decisions aim to reduce emissions, waste, and environmental impact across our value chain.

Packaging

Currently, 90% of our packaging is made from recycled paper, and we're working to phase out the remaining plastic components used for product protection during shipping. Our goal is to transition to 100% recyclable or compostable packaging by March 2026. This means all packaging will be easy for customers to recycle at home, helping us reduce waste and make our packaging more sustainable.

Organic Cotton

While we currently use some GOTS-certified organic cotton in our products, we recognize that the organic cotton is not always the most sustainable option due to factors like water use, land requirements, and limited availability. Instead of aiming for 100% organic cotton, our focus is on sourcing the most sustainable fibre for each of our designs, based on environmental impact, durability, and supply chain transparency.

Emission Audit

Conduct Sock Affairs' first full emissions audit (Scope 1, 2, and key Scope 3) by December 2026 using a third-party platform or consultant, and summarize findings in a short public report or blog post by early 2027.

Product Durability

We test all our socks for durability-assessing factors like wash cycles, fibre retention, and overall wear — because at Sock Affairs we believe that high-quality, long-lasting products lead to less waste. Durability is something we take pride in and so we provide clear care instructions on our labels with each product, to help customers extend the life of their socks and reduce their environmental impact.

One Pair, One Tree

By 2026, we're working toward partnering with a verified tree-planting organization to plant one tree for every pair of socks sold. This is an initiative that will be highlighted across our product pages, checkout, and confirmation emails — so you'll always know the impact your purchase is making.

100% Made in Portugal

Our entire supplychain is anchored in Portugal, from our offices to our factoriesand warehouse. This local approachdrastically reduces our carbon footprintby eliminating the need for planes, boats, and long-distance travel. It’s how we actively minimizeour environmental impact.
